01

What is a smoke exhaust fan?

Smoke exhaust fans are an important part of systems designed to remove hot smoke and gases in a controlled manner during a fire.

02

How is it different from a standard fan?

In smoke-control applications, the fan does more than move air. It is expected to operate under specified temperature and duration conditions during an emergency scenario. Project specifications and conformity documents are therefore critical.

03

How does the system operate?

The fan may work together with smoke zones, shafts, dampers, make-up air openings, jet fans and the automation system. Every component in the system should be designed for the same fire scenario.

04

What data is needed for selection?

Required airflow and pressure, smoke temperature, operating duration, duct losses, installation location, electrical supply and the control scenario should all be evaluated during selection.

05

Vitlo smoke-control solutions

The Vitlo range includes the AXF duct-type smoke exhaust fan together with AXJ, RXJ and TUNEL-AXF jet fan solutions. The suitable product should be selected according to the project’s smoke-control scenario.
